Your Opportunity

As woom's Senior Frontend Developer, you will be responsible for developing new user-facing features, determining the structure and design of web pages, building reusable codes, optimizing web pages for maximum efficiency (e.g. page loading times) and using a variety of markup languages to create the web pages. You will be part of the development and deployment process and work alongside a small and talented team of developers.

Your Mission

Responsible for ensuring the alignment / consistency of web design and user experience requirements - working alongside UX/UI Design Team
Bridge the gap between graphic design and technical implementation - Translate UI/UX design wireframes to actual code
Ensuring user experience determines design choices
Develop new user facing features that enhance the user experience
Write reusable code for future use and libraries
Create a full technical documentation of all actions and steps taken
Optimizing web pages for maximum speed and scalability
Ensuring websites are accessible across many platforms – mobile first approach
Producing, maintaining and modifying websites and user interfaces
Utilizing a variety of markup languages to write web pages
Incorporating applications into our platform portfolio
Fixing any website issues or bugs that arise
Creating tools that enhance the user's website experience
Partnering with other members on the IT team to ensure business evaluation, proper testing, compliance and release management

Your Skills

3+ years of experience in web or app development
Proficient understanding of web languages, including HTML5, CSS3
Understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, as jQuery
Good understanding of AngularJS, KnockoutJS, BackboneJS, ReactJS, …
Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates and AJAX
Knowledge of various CMS solutions – preferably Kentico
Understanding of key design principles and experience with responsive and adaptive design
Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with tools such as Photoshop is a plus
Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
Understanding of SEO principles
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Working proficiency in English

Preferred Skills

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field
Familiar with Agile methodologies
German is preferred but not required
