Summary
As an experienced Tech Lead in the IPA team within the Platform Services Group, you will work in the domain of identity management & authentication and help build a seamless administration and governance experience for our customers. You will take a vital role in building up a new engineering team, driving new features, establishing best practices and helping the team ramping up their knowledge. You will be part of the power duo for the team, composed of Product Owner and Tech Lead.

Building on the intelligent enterprise strategy, SAP Signavio set out to assist and accompany SAP customers in navigating through their digital transformation by helping them understand andimprove their business processes.
The Platform Services Group is part of the Platform Group, one of five groups in the engineering department of SAP Signavio unit. We value consistency, modularity & re-usability, as well as simplicity.
The focus of the Platform Services Group is shared backend services providing integration and extensibility capabilities and thus forming central building blocks for SAP Signavio’s Suite.
The IPA team owns the identity management & authentication domain, which includes:

user login & single sign-on
customer on-/off-boarding
provisioning of users, groups, licenses
assist administration of users, user groups and licenses
integration with external identity management solutions

integration with services of the SAP Business Process Intelligence suite
ensure security standards as well as data protection and privacy guidelines

Please note that we are on our journey from a monolithic architecture towards individual services in a modern infrastructure.

What you’ll do
Your job is to make sure that the team works on what’s most important and valuable at any given time. To do that, you will be:

Leading the technical software development and strategy for a delivery team
Collaborating and working with your team, the PO, Head of and other stakeholders on solving technical and business problems
Contributing to the entire cycle of product development, from first ideas and brainstorming sessions to continuously delivering improvements
Driving architecture definition and decisions both within the team and with other teams depending on the scope of the decision

Working on existing applications as well as the inception of new (micro)services and developing new components
Together with Principal Engineers and Lead Engineers, defining long-term tech strategies in accordance with business needs
Ensuring engineering excellence within the team by being a sparring partner, mentor, coach as well as functional lead for the team members
Leveraging DevOps practices and tools
Enhancing the architecture in a scalable way

What you’ll bring

7+ years experience in hands-on software engineering positions, including record of technical leadership in engineering teams or across multiple teams
Passion for software products, code & tech, agile values & practices as well as people

Comfortable with fast iterations, clean code, test driven development, pair programming, pragmatic development approaches and fail-fast attitude
Solid knowledge of programming paradigms, languages as well as software design and architecture principles
Proficient in Java/Kotlin and in-depth experience with a significant number of the technologies we use, or similar: Spring, Serverless computing (TypeScript/NodeJS, AWS Lambda), JEE, Hibernate, Apache Tomcat, Resteasy, SpringBoot, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, Circle CI
Experience with

Microservice & message-driven architectures
Building and operating secure web and cloud enterprise applications
DevOps technologies and CI/CD pipelines
SQL databases (ideally MySQL or PostgreSQL)

Communication ability that allow you to translate between technical and business domains, adjust to different audiences and build relationships within and outside the team
Empowering and encouraging attitude for mentoring team members, providing feedback and enabling them to work independently and grow
