If you are interested in the material-science related interactions between chip and package of modern power semiconductors, then we have a great opportunity for you! In this job at our Infineon site in Villach you will work on topics that are related to the interaction of the “frontend” (FE) wafer production and the “backend” (BE) package assembly processes. You will work on the optimization of existing chip backside metallization as well as on the introduction of new processes and materials.
In your new role you will:

work on existing interactions between backside metallization and advanced packaging technologies at Infineon (e.g. Soldering and Sintering)
lead or participate in interdisciplinary project and development teams
be the interface between different stakeholders, like process engineering, production and business units in order to interact and communicate effectively in cross functional teams (e.g. 8D teams)
support deep analysis and troubleshooting of complex topics and present overall root cause analysis, as well as long-term preventive measures
be the technical contact for the process block “chip backside metallization” at Infineon in Villach
drive complexity management within the chip backside metallization process block
You are an experienced team player and you are able to win others with your communication skills and your structured approach of getting things done .

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

a Ph.D., Masters or Bachelor’s Degree with focus on semiconductor technologies , material science, microelectronics, physics, chemistry or comparable
at least 3 - 5 years of experience in chip-to-package interaction and / or material science (esp. metallurgy) focusing on interconnect materials, processes and reliability
good experience in advanced failure analysis, problem solving methodologies and design of experiment
like to variably work in the office, cleanroom or analysis lab
are willing to occasionally travel to other Infineon sites in Europe or Asia
have fluent English skills and the ability to communicate in German
This position is subject to the collective agreement for workers and employees in the electrical and electronics industry, at least employment group H (https://www.feei.at/leistungen/informations-service/mindestlohne-und-gehalter). The monthly salary is paid 14 times p.a.. A higher payment is negotiable depending on your expertise and skills. Furthermore, Infineon offers additional employee benefits.
