About AQT
At AQT we build quantum computers. Founded in Innsbruck, Austria, in 2018, we aim to bring quantum technologies out of the laboratory environment and turn them into everyday products. Our goal is a quantum computer based on trapped ions that is installed in normal IT infrastructure and can be readily operated from any PC. We provide quantum technology for research laboratories and super-computing centers. To our industrial customers, we offer quantum solutions through partnerships with leading quantum software firms. For our team in Innsbruck, we are now looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join us as a Front-end Software Developer.

Your Role
As a Front-end Software Developer you will be a leading contributor to the growing AQT software stack. As such, your responsibilities will involve creating and maintaining the user interface and user experience of AQT's software products. Your main focus will be on designing and implementing the front-end components of AQT's quantum computers, instruments, and cloud services while ensuring that they are user-friendly, intuitive, and responsive. This will require you to have a deep understanding of web application design, user experience requirements, and software development best practices. In addition, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects simultaneously. This may include contributing to the development of internal tools and infrastructure to support the company's overall goals. As a Front-end Software Developer, you will be at the forefront of the quantum computing industry, pushing the boundaries of what is possible with cutting-edge technologies. Your Responsibilities
Design and develop user-friendly, functional, and aesthetic interfaces for controlling, monitoring, and utilizing AQT quantum computers
Work closely with the AQT quantum engineers and software developers to ensure seamless integration between the front-end and back-end components of AQT's software stack
Optimize and improve the performance of front-end applications to minimize latency and improve user experience
Conduct user research and analyze user feedback to continuously improve the design and functionality of AQT's front-end applications
Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work to ensure that project deadlines are met
Write well-structured, documented, and tested code
Collaborate with stakeholders inside and outside the software team
Continuously improve yourself and how we operate as a team

Your Qualifications
3+ years of experience in systems software development
Preferably a master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
Strong proficiency in front-end development technologies such as Typescript, and React
Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
Basic familiarity with Python and commonly used packages is advantageous
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to troubleshoot and debug complex software systems
Knowledge of quantum computing principles and quantum mechanics is a plus, but not required
Love to work in a collaborative environment with highly-skilled colleagues
Strong communication skills in spoken and written English

Your salary
Austrian law stipulates that the formal minimum salary of EUR 41 691.44 per year, according to Collective Bargaining Agreement, must be specified in job postings. Commensurate to your experience and skills, your salary can be significantly higher.
