About the role

At Cropster, we are building market-leading Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions to empower businesses throughout the coffee supply chain. Thousands of customers all over the world from farm to cup use our software products to make better coffee.

As a team lead for the backend developers you will help us to grow as an organization, by improving processes and ensuring a smooth flow of work. A primary focus will be on fostering good and clear communication across different channels to ensure fluid collaboration and knowledge sharing within the backend team and with other departments. You will be an advocate for tearing down barriers and increasing clarity within the backend team, but also across departments (PMs, design support, etc.) and will work alongside our Tech Leads and the Head of Engineering (HoE).

The preferred location for this role is Innsbruck.

What you'll do

Be a key interface for the HoE and help to identify issues of any nature within the team and bring them to a quick resolution.
Keep an oversight of sprint tasks, spot potential risks or delays at an early stage and inform stakeholders (product managers, product designers, frontend, etc.) proactively and regularly about the progress, possible blockers/delays.
Conduct regular check-ins with team members to ensure that agreed on tasks are worked on and help the backend development team to prioritize and handle requests.
Coach your team members to improve their approach and establish good communication patterns within the team and in the collaboration with the different stakeholders.
Ensure that support documents and Wiki articles are up to date by sniffing out stale or outdated content and bring this to the attention of respective content owners.
Establish, train and maintain processes in coordination with the Tech Leads including - but not limited to - Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, code reviews and PRs, and agile software development.
Support the hiring process by being part of the interview process and help to evaluate new candidates in the various stages of the hiring process.
We work with the Scrum framework and you will be involved in the entire software development life cycle. We are looking for people who want to bring in ideas for the speciality coffee industry with both worlds in mind: customer satisfaction and technical excellence
Make sure your team is involved at the right stages of planning processes to improve accuracy of task estimates and sizes. Contribute to sprint planning by helping to make goals attainable and understandable for everyone involved.
Keep the finger on the the pulse of development plans and changes to know ahead of time how that might impact your area of expertise and react proactively to your team’s needs.

We are looking for someone with

5+ years of experience in hands on software development.
2+ years of experience with people management.
Capability to translate seamlessly back and forth the needs, wants and problems of all stakeholders inside and outside of the development team.
Care about personal relationships as much as you care about well written and maintainable code.
The ability to not shying back from constructive conflict but are determined to reach consensus at the end of a discussion.
Strong communication skills who’s actively giving and seeking constructive and well-intended feedback.
Experience in coordinating teams and establishing processes.
The perspective of seeing it as a benefit to work with people from various backgrounds and know that different perspectives lead to the best outcomes.

What you can expect

The salary range for this position is € 60K to € 67K gross/year\_\_ and we look at factors like your experience and individual qualifications to determine our offer, which includes benefits like an educational and wellness budget, remote work possibilities and working from home, flexible working hours, paid time for volunteer work, an endless stream of really great coffee, and much more. We also make our best possible offer upfront—no games.

We thrive on high commitment and a strong culture of collaboration to achieve our revolutionary mission of a sustainable coffee supply chain. If you want to have a significant impact and work with people who care, Cropster is the right place for you.
