Become part of the Axpo Trainee community! Drive the digitalisation at Axpo with us! During the traineeship, you have the possibility to work in three different teams, build up your network among the whole group and take on responsibility from day one. Your program starts at the team called Digital Solutions of Axpo Distribution. This team creates innovative digital solutions for the Axpo business as well as for third party customers. Together with drone pilots, BIM specialists and data scientists the software engineers create new features based on the users’ requirements and of course their own ideas. The second and third assignment is up to your interest!
The traineeship begins on 1st of October 2023 and is limited to 18 months with the option of a permanent position.
What you will do:
Shape with us the future of energy! Gain deep insights into the daily business of a Software Engineer through assignments in the whole Axpo Group, e.g. Group IT, Digitalisation teams of our Production & Distribution or Core Marketing Trading.
Work on different operational and/or strategic tasks in your assignments
Take on responsibility for ongoing projects in connection with the use of new technologies
Contribute innovative solutions, thus leaving a footprint through your engagement
Create value for the business by implementing cool applications
Network across the entire company - hence, create synergies and added values for Axpo
What you bring and who you are:
Completed Bachelor / Master’s degree (University / FH) in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering or Natural Sciences
Basic know-how with Linux, git, Docker and your own IDE
Some experience with API driven application architecture
Programming skills in either Python (FastAPI, Flask or Django), TypeScript/JavaScript (Angular, React or Vue), HTML, CSS or C#
First working experience as an intern or working student
High interest in the electricity generation, distribution, and trading
You are flexible, curious, and willing to learn something new in our challenging environment
Entrepreneurial mindset that likes to take on responsibility as a full team member early on
Fluent in English and German

You will become part of the 14th trainee generation, which you will meet regularly for trainee lunches, presentations, or events. Profit from our internal learning platforms, courses, and other opportunities to shape your skills and get to know new people.
