The impact you will make

Webgears Group successfully operates international Smart-Shopping Portals that reach more than ten million users each month. Our goal is to give our users access to vouchers and deals to provide them inspiration during their shopping process. This is achieved using an intelligent system to pair an extensive list of e-commerce brands on the sites of popular media companies. In addition to the deal communities mydealz and hotukdeals, digital US media brands such as CNET and The Daily Beast, Glamour and The Sun in the UK or Welt, Bild and Computerbild in Germany rank amongst our partners.

Are you our new Frontend Developer (m/f/d)?

You will be responsible for the technical implementation of the frontend application and for the visual presentation of data. You elegantly move between the world of design and the world of programming. You can disassemble a design, separate content from appearance and appearance from function and put it back together.

You can be located either in Götzis (Austria) or Berlin (Germany), where our offices are or work remotely from Germany or Austria.

You’ll fit great with these skills and values
You have 5+ years of experience as a Frontend developer
You have deep knowledge of JavaScript /TypeScript
You have worked with React 3+ years and you have good understanding of Next.js framework.
You are familiar with HTML5, UI layouts, SASS, understanding of responsive design.
You understand SSR (Server Side Rendering)
You have experience with PHP (Symfony framework is a plus)
You have good knowledge of technical search engine optimization and performance improvements (e.g. optimizing for Google Pagespeed/Lighthouse Rankings, Schema.org, micro data).
You have good knowledge of automated unit and end-to-end testing (e.g. Jest and Cypress).
Our company language is English – you should be able to communicate with ease about all work topics with your team

This is what you'll be doing
You plan and implement new frontend applications based on modern frontend technologies for our high-traffic couponing platforms
You handle conception and design of user-friendly and appealing user interfaces
You identify potential for improvement and implement new features
You improve the user experience through continuous A/ B Testing
You assure quality through manual and automated tests as well as conduction of code reviews
You implement basic backend endpoints

The minimum annual base salary is based on the collective agreement (KV) for employees in the field of services in automatic data processing and information technology in Austria. The actual salary is higher than the KV, depends on the respective professional training and experience and is also based on the Vorarlberg salary level.
