Technology Expert (f/m/d)On our journey to realize the PALFINGER Vision & Strategy 2030, we focus to increasingly offer fully integrated lifting solutions with hard- and software from one single source and seize new revenue opportunities through data-driven business models. In order to gain more traction on the latter, a dedicated Digital Product Line is set up, within the strong organizational frame of the GLOBAL PALFINGER ORGANIZATION, enabling close cooperation with existing Product Lines, Sales & Service, the ICT organization and the Corporate Incubator P21st. The Digital Product Line has a clear mission: to complement PALFINGER's world-class lifting solutions with new, innovative digital products and services with viable data-driven business models. Based on an in-depth understanding of customers' needs the Digital Product Line will take responsibility for the entire digital product life cycle. We are searching for a Technology Expert to explore novel digital technologies which will influence existing and new digital solutions of the Digital Product Line and transfer the technology into our solutions. The goal is to innovate within the focus areas of the Digital Product Line and to lay the technology groundwork for future areas. The Technology Expert works with internal and external teams, spans boundaries and combines curiosity with a hands-on mentality. The role is responsible for technology- exploration, assessment, demonstration, implementation and contributes to the product and solution development process. RESPONSIBILITIESTechnology Exploration Analyze market trends and technology innovation in the focus areas of Virtual Reality, 3D Rendering, IoT, Computer Vision, Machine Learning/AI, edge devices, cyber-physical systems, … Identify partners with knowledge in emerging technologies to support technology assessment Closely collaborate with customers, product lines and stakeholders throughout the organization Structure the knowledge and experience with technology and transfer technology related information into organization Technology Transfer and Implementation Support the transfer/ramp-up projects with the new technology and the serialization of technology into solutions and products Solution development with strong focus on high quality for all deliverables and fulfillment of customers' expectations (e.g. PALFINGER VR Simulators) Define integration of PALFINGER systems (sensors, hardware, virtualized systems) into the Virtual Reality solution Contribute in cross-functional PALFINGER development initiatives to bring specific technology expertise into projects Employer Branding & Learning Collaborate with universities and research institutes to represent PALFINGER as a technology company in the focus areas of the Digital Product Line Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure that solutions are innovative, relevant and effective Representation of the Digital Product Line in regards to the VR Simulator topics during at PALFINGER Events, Trade Fairs, … Never stand still and incorporate developments into professional and personal approach QUALIFICATIONSTechnical education and experience (engineering, computer science, business informatics or comparable); MSc/MBA is a plus Lateral thinker, knowledgeable in science and technology Strong customer focus and domain knowledge hands-on, turn ideas into reality Good knowledge and experience with 3D/VR technology (Unreal, Unity3D) Knowledge and experience as a Maker by utilizing e.g. Arduino, Raspberry Pi, .. for rapid prototyping Knowledge and experience with programming languages (e.g. C++, C#, javascript/typescript, python, …) Knowledge of agile process models (SCRUM) as an advantage Confident communicator with very good verbal and written communication skills, "bridge builder", able to leverage capabilities available Interpersonal and intercultural skills combined with flexible personal communication style Fluent in English and negotiation skills in international business environment WE OFFERGood work-life-Balance thanks to flexible working hours Performance-related payment and attractive bonus systems Career planning and development opportunities Ongoing further training Voluntary social benefits through our PALfit company health management system Minimum gross salary according to Austrian metal industry collective agreement is EUR 46.346,72 per year.
