Big Giant Telecom Robotics is expanding its team and we are looking for a highly motivated personality as Senior Software Developer (Backend) to join our engineering team. You will be working in an exciting startup environment within the foundation of a large company. You will have the freedom and autonomy to do your best work, with the support and camaraderie you need to enjoy your job.

As a Senior Software Developer (Backend), you will work collaboratively within the engineering team to design, develop, and implement high value end-to-end functionality for our customers. You will contribute to solutions which manage and optimize whole fleets of mobile robots performing tasks alone and collaboratively. Moreover, you will participate in the development of our robots’ high-level task execution to fulfill customer workflows. Your areas of focus will strongly depend on your individual specializations. You will participate in a collaborative agile team environment and build features that not only meet customer requirements, but help us encourage best practices in an incredibly innovative industry.

Responsibilities:

Development of our underlying service-oriented software platform

Integration of different backend technologies and systems to provide the basis for further implementation of new system components

Development of analytic tools and services surrounding the core robotics services.

Using technologies like Python, Java, C++, PostgreSQL, Docker, Junit, Jest and many more

Implementation of user stories as a member of an agile team

Create automatically testable, well documented solutions; participate in peer reviews.

Participate in agile practices such as standups, estimating, prioritization and retrospectives.

Skills:

Several years of experience with backend development and advanced knowledge with Java, C++ or other object-oriented programming languages.

Experience with software development in an agile team using SCRUM.

“Get things done” attitude

Experience with software testing, databases and microservice related technologies.

Excellent team player in an English-speaking company

Ability to embrace change and work in a fast paced, iterative environment.

Willingness to accept new challenges, assist in troubleshooting issues, and possess the ability to jump into areas that go beyond the job description.

Good to Have:

Master's Degree in the area of software development.

Advanced know-how of Database systems such as relational databases and NoSQL.

Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines.

Technical writing skills.

Good organizational skills.

Capability to work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of various factors.

A strong sense of urgency and bias to action – being able to think on your feet.
