PURPOSE
You will be part of a small cross-functional team. As a single Backend developer, you will be responsible for the backend platform, working closely with frontend engineers and our CTO to maintain the current platform and develop features that are used by millions of users.
YOUR MISSION
Together with your team, you will write code that is used by millions of users
Continue development of our backend platform which exposes a REST API used by our frontend clients (iOS, Android and Web)
Collaborate with your team members to deliver new features our users love
Work on bug fixing and improving the backend application
Occasionally work on improving our CRM tool or similar internal services
Work within a supportive team with opportunities to learn on the job
In every task, you have the possibility to bring in your own ideas and thereby shape the future of Shpock

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will be working as the single backend platform developer, in a cross-functional team of engineers for other platforms (iOS, Android, Web) - all led by our CTO. The team is small and all engineers are senior level, everyone being more than happy to share knowledge and help each other, especially during onboarding.
YOUR PROFILE
You are very experienced with PHP
You are a proactive self-starter
5+ years of professional experience working in software development
Experience with Elasticsearch and MongoDB or willing to learn this part of our tech stack
Good knowledge of web development (HTML, CSS, JS)
Experience working with Node.js and CI/CD tools is nice to have
You have good written and spoken English skills
You are curious and willing to understand how things work
You’re not afraid of learning new technologies or adjusting to new circumstances
You find simple, elegant solutions to hard problems

We offer an attractive salary for this position based on your qualifications and experience. The minimum salary for this full-time position in Austria is € 60.000,- gross per year. We are willing to pay more based on the experience. We will treat your application in strict confidence!
