OVERVIEW
Are you ready to join our amazing User Engagement Team to create outstanding user experiences for our B2C applications? We're looking for a Backend Developer with superpowers in developing web applications in mid- or large-scale production systems using a major programming language, such as Node.js and typed Javascript, specifically TypeScript. If you're a master of relational databases like MySQL or Postgres, have an interest in using cloud services on AWS, and a passion to use your skills to make sports happen for our users, then we want you on our team!
At Eversports we take our work seriously, but we also know how to have fun. That's why we offer a 35-hour working week, every second Friday off, regular team events, and two big company events per year.
YOUR TASKS
Building and improving functionality that is driving user engagement on our B2C applications by owning the backend implementation and technical decisions
Gain, challenge, and discuss user insights with your Product Manager to build solutions that really make a difference
Work closely together with client developers to keep the communication lean and fast and provide the optimal backend
Own services and make sure that scalability, testability, maintainability, and reusability are key drivers behind your technical implementations
Use pair-programming, code reviews, and other techniques to gain and share best-practices and continuously improve the code quality of our products
Peer-up with QAs to investigate and fix tricky bugs and use test-automation to increase long-term stability
Stay up-to-date on the latest technology trends and innovations and use those insights to find technical solutions to company problems
Bring your perspective, experience and drive to the team and contribute actively to a supportive and team-first environment
YOUR PROFILE
8+ years of experience developing web applications in mid- or large-scale production systems using a major programming language
Experience developing web applications with Node.js and TypeScript
Experiences with relational databases like MySQL or Postgres
Experience in handling GIT
Interest in using cloud services on AWS
Interest in scalable applications using microservices architecture
Good written and verbal communication skills in English
NICE TO HAVES
Experiences with AWS services and infrastructure (e.g. AWS Lambda)
Experience in GraphQL and frontend technologies (e.g. React.js)
Verbal communication skills in German
Relevant educational background from a university
