Group Trading is an IT department supporting Erste Group's business areas Treasury Markets, Equity and Fixed Income Trading. We are collocated with trading at Erste Campus, where we provide the full spectrum of IT Services, from business analysis to implementation and integration, as well as user support, vendor management and daily operations of our trading applications. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a new partner in crime to support our development team either part-time or full-time. What to do:Applying refactoring techniques to simplify, optimize, and restructure the legacy code Updating the legacy code to use newer versions of Java and its libraries Adding new features and enhancements to the legacy codebase as per the business requirements Troubleshooting and resolving issues and defects in the legacy code Documenting the changes and updates made to the legacy code You check these boxes:Proficiency in Java (especially Version 8, 11 and 17) Familiarity with legacy Java code and its challenges, such as lack of documentation, outdated libraries, poor design, and technical debt Knowledge of best practices and patterns for refactoring legacy code and improving its readability, maintainability, and extensibility Knowledge of Java performance tuning and optimization techniques Understanding of Java concurrency and multithreading Familiarity with Java frameworks and libraries (e.g., Spring, Hibernate, Maven) Familiarity with vanilla JavaScript and Angular Nice to have - Knowledge of banking and interest in the domain trading business and products (e.g. securities, bonds, FX money market) Why you will like us:The opportunity to work in a progressive banking IT area and to develop your own areas of responsibility and to take on responsibility yourself Care, collegial working atmosphere characterized by mutual appreciation, team spirit and fun at work Possibility to benefit and learn from our international, talented and passionate community at Erste Great learning curve through ownership and creative freedom Interest groups and clubs: Take part in discussions and get involved in projects.
