Our Center for Digital Safety & Security is seeking to hire new Ingenious Partners for our location in Vienna or Klagenfurt: Junior Research Engineer (m/f/d) for Model-based Risk Analysis Software- Center for Digital Safety & Security -IMAGINEThe research field Dependable Systems Engineering (DSE) focuses on studying and developing methodologies, tools and standards for increasing, verifying and validating the dependability of software and systems - during conception, development, certification and operation. As part of our multidisciplinary, multinational, and highly motivated team, you are among the first to have access to cutting edge research and tools. You will be able to participate and collaborate in national and international research projects. As cybersecurity and risk analysis is a core part of our research field, you will learn about security and risk management concepts on the job. ENGAGEYou design, test, implement and maintain research tools together with your scientific colleagues and other research engineers of your team. As a research engineer you are responsible for front-end and back-end development of risk and cybersecurity management software, particularly dealing with cascading effects analysis as well as threat identification and assessment, in the context of research projects and prototypes. You are in constant exchange with your team colleagues when developing methods based on (numerical) simulation, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. You contribute to project deliverables in terms of research documents as well as software according to your projects and work packages. As you will be implementing scientific solutions in software, you have the opportunity to contribute to scientific publications. ACHIEVEYou will have the opportunity to interact with research and industrial partners on the national and European level and develop concepts, specifications, and procedures for an innovative software solution. You share and discuss your technical knowledge and creative ideas with your team colleagues and external partners. You position yourself in national and international networks and develop collaborations on scientific publications. Your qualification as an Ingenious Partner: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science / Mathematics Experience in professional software engineering, esp. with Angular, TypeScript / JavaScript, NodeJS, NestJS, CSS, HTML, Java, C#, Docker with the willingness to learn the others Understanding of REST APIs Basic Database Knowledge Hands-on mentality and enthusiasm for creating sustainable technical solutions and implementing them in practice High commitment and ability to cooperate in multidisciplinary and diverse teams Excellent English skills, German knowledge is a plus If you chose Klagenfurt for your work location, you need to be fine with periodic trips to Vienna for face2face business meetings What to expect:The minimum gross annual salary according to the collective agreement is EUR 49.280,--. The actual salary will be determined individually, based on your qualifications and experience.
