We are excited to announce an opening for the position of Linux Database Administrator at our dynamic and rapidly growing company in Vienna. If you are passionate about Linux, databases, have a strong desire to contribute to a collaborative team and speak in German, this opportunity is for you. As a Linux Database Administrator, you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing our database systems, ensuring their reliability, performance, and security. You will work closely with our IT team, developers, and stakeholders to design, implement, and maintain robust database solutions. Your expertise in Linux, database administration, and problem-solving will be essential to our success. Two days on-site working is preferred.

Tasks

Implementation and operation of a highly available DB2 for Linux environment.
– DB2 LUW Server Management and Design
– Implementation and operation of a highly available DB2 LUW environment, which fulfills the requirements of continuous availability
– Handling of the data movement utilities commonly used on DB2 LUW
– Creation and management of DB2 objects
– SQL performance monitoring and optimization
– Support for database and performance problems, especially with Java JDBC applications

Requirements

Basic Unix knowledge, several years of experience with RHEL Enterprise Linux or Ubuntu Linux, experience with DB2 LUW version 10.1, version 10.5 or version 11.5.
Experience in using and optimizing complex SQL statements,
experience in using DB2 utilities for database and object maintenance,
experience with DB2 in a high availability environment (purescale), DB2 security features to protect sensitive information, experience with database restore and backup concepts, DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows Foundation and Administration Badge

Nice to have

Several years of experience in working with DB2,
Experience in using tools commonly used in the DB2 environment,
Ability to work in a team, Communication skills,
Ability to work independently and commitment,
German (C1) + English (B2)
