Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with incident or emergency response coordination.
Experience in systems administration, software engineering, digital forensics, security engineering, privacy engineering, security operations.

Preferred qualifications:

Professional Cloud Security Engineer certification.
Experience in customer facing incident response roles (e.g., MSSP, consulting, SoC).
Experience developing tools, products, or services with one programming or scripting language such as Python, Go, C/C++ and/or Javascript, Bash, Powershell.
Experience in defensive engineering, deploying or building tools such as SIEMs, IPS/IDS, EDR/NDR, DFIR tools, security detections.
Experience in query languages, SQL, Splunk, Kusto, Hive.
Understanding of trends in the security industry, public policy.

About the job

In this role, you will support Google Cloud customers with specific classes of security and abuse incidents identified within their Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. You will leverage detection signals in Google Cloud, perform threat modeling and post mortem analyses to drive prevention controls and GCP security posture.

Responsibilities

Perform investigations on a wide variety of incidents from various sources to determine and design preventative solutions.
Build reliable, high performant and scalable security solutions to enable Google Cloud to operate at higher standards of Security, Privacy and Compliance.
Coordinate and drive resolution on a diverse range of threats and security, and abuse incidents.
Interface with critical Google Cloud customers and public organizations as part of a Global team that provides mitigations and support.
Develop excellence in Incident Management through tools and infrastructure and prepare teams across Google.
