We at Balloon Metainfo XR are developing a metaverse browser for web and smartphones that is based on React & Unity. Our first application is "Balloon-Events”, the world's first map and ar-based event calendar.

We are close to pushing the product to the app/play stores.

Tasks

Our backend plays a crucial role in the development of our Balloon-Events-App. The growing number of events (currently 25.000) that we import via diverse APIs and that are created by our users is a growing challenge. Therefore we need a very experienced backend developer who has the ability to see and understand the complete picture of our product & services.

Requirements

Profound technical knowledge:

PostgreSQL
AWS
Docker
Data Modeling
Consuming diverse external APIs (REST, graphQL….)
At least one broadly applied web application framework
Basic knowledge of

Common Backend Development Languages such as Python, Ruby, Perl, PHP, Javascript (NodeJS), Go
Gitlab (CI/CD)
DevOps
Ideally some knowledge

React
TypeScript
you are a generalist (for instance some Web Frontend Experience..)
GIS, PostGiS
For communication and documentation, we use

Slack
Google Drive
GitLAB

General Requirements:

You are able and like to communicate in person and online
Ability to formulate Issues / describe requirements in Gitlab, Slack etc.
You are able to work on tasks independently.
open and communicate with external partners,
open to learning new stuff if needed.
You want to be employed
You have a valid Work Permit for Austria
Benefits

Minimum salary for this position is € 54.700 gross per year, based on full-time employment (38.5 h/week). We offer a higher salary in line with experience and qualification.

For very experienced candidates optionally offer a part-time position.
