Support Engineer at appointmed (full or part-time)
For over 6 years, appointmed has been built by a close-knit team of experts in their respective fields.
Even though it has always been our goal to keep the company as small as possible, expanding the team, when the disadvantages of not doing so became too much of a burden, was never out of the question.
Two engineers can only get so much done in a regular workweek, and we are heavily invested in a calm work environment (no crazy 60+ work hours!). Now - we feel - is the right time to add another member to the team to distribute the increasing workload.
About appointmed
appointmed is a practice management SaaS solution for therapists. We provide a tool to efficiently run their practice, schedule appointments, and document the treatments of their patients.
Founded in 2016, we are entirely self-funded and profitable, currently on our way to EUR 1M annual recurring revenue. We don't have millions in VC funding to drive growth at all costs - by choice. We are building a long-term, sustainable business that our clients love and our team loves working for.
It brought us to where we are today, and now we are looking for someone who can relate to that mindset. Someone who enjoys building usable products for an incredibly sophisticated target group and values excellent customer experience as much as we do.
Requirements
This job's primary role is to provide technical support to our customers, fix bugs, and work independently on various product improvements. You don't have to have the most experience, but you do have to love learning on your own and the drive to work without a manager breathing down your neck.
Fluent in essential web development languages: HTML, CSS, SASS/LESS
Experience working with JavaScript, TypeScript, Java (optional)
Know how to work with Git
Take pride in perfecting the user experience
Know how to animate with CSS
Strong written and verbal communication skills in German and English
What your job would look like
Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions to customers
Document and track customer issues using our internal bug tracking system
Fix bugs in the code on your own and work on various product improvements
Respond to customer inquiries via email, phone, and chat in a timely and friendly manner
Collaborate with other team members to improve support workflows
Keep up-to-date with new products and features, as well as industry best practices
You will be able to find your own way to solve problems while being guided by a senior that is always within your reach - there are some rules, but we encourage you to be critical with those as well.
Some nice things about working with us
Competitive SalaryWe offer a competitive salary starting from € 45.000 gross per year with willingness to overpay according to your qualifications and experience.
Work from AnywhereWe are 100% remote. A minimum overlap of about 4 hours (CET) is still required, though. To make this work, we communicate actively using Basecamp, Slack, Notion, screen-sharing, and video calls as needed.
Flexible Work HoursWe’re focused on the work you get done rather than the exact time you do it. You'll never need to "ask permission" to go do some shopping, drop off the kids at school, take a nap, exercise, read a book or go out for lunch with people you care about.
Regular Company Meet-ups, Events, and WorkationsWe use regular meet-ups and events to see each other in person and make sure that our relationship is not solely digital. If you're located outside of Austria, we will take care of all travel arrangements as well. Additionally, we host at least one "workation" per year, where we gather the entire team and rent a property (most likely a beach house somewhere in Europe) to spend about 7-10 days together.
Inclusive Work PlaceWe value diversity of perspective and seek to build an inclusive workplace that welcomes people from all different backgrounds, identities and experiences.
How to get an offer for this roleIf you would like to apply for this position, here's what the process will look like:
1.Send an up-to-date CV tojobs@appointmed.com, stating your intention to apply for the Customer Support Engineer position. We will let you know within 48 hours whether we want to go ahead with it.
2.You'll have a video chat with our CTO (Bernhard) and COO (Christopher). There won't be any crazy code challenges. It's an opportunity for you to ask questions about the role, get to know each other. Depending on your skill set, we might hand you a (paid!) sample project to complete. Those projects are typically require less than four hours of work.
3.Assuming the initial meeting goes well, we schedule another call to give you an opportunity to meet Patrik (our CEO). This is a quick chat for you to know who you'll be working with should you decide to start working with us.
4.Given you're happy to go ahead, we will extend you an offer. You can take as much time to consider it as you like. We only ask that you give us a date by which you intend to make a decision.5.We set a start date, sign papers, and start work!
LEGAL DISCLOSURE
Note for Austria, in accordance with §9 Abs. 2 GlBG: The minimum salary is € 39.950,00 gross / year when employed full-time, as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. Our final offer will depend on your skills and experience.
