What you will do...
We are seeking a capable Web engineer to become a part of a small yet very impactful team that builds exciting and innovative solutions and workflows in the document space on top of the world's best document SDKs, fully supported by their original developers.

Build new features and fix issues for existing products on a regular schedule;
Build solution boilerplates meant for other developers;
Develop UI and UX according to specifications and design concepts;
Write readable and well-documented code that scales;
Collaborate with teams distributed in 30+ countries using Slack, Notion, JIRA and Zoom;
Manage your work by setting, prioritizing and executing against your own goals - ultimately taking ownership of tasks and projects/initiatives;
Innovate using the latest front-end and back end technologies, frameworks, and approaches.

About You...

You are proficient with JavaScript with at least 5 years of experience in its ecosystem of tools and packages (some of the tools we use are React, TypeScript, Next.js, webpack, WebAssembly);

You possess a strong sense of building clean code that other developers enjoy browsing and and extending, always striving for simplicity and composability;
You have a well-rounded approach to problem solving, and understand the difference between when to fix and when to refactor;
You understand the value of changes in the larger context of the business and the product’s customer, you are interested in the big picture;
You understand the difference between a POC and production code, you have experience building both as well as operating the latter;
You have excellent communication skills and thrive in the challenging environment that is a fully distributed remote company;
You have an excellent command of the English language;
You write top-notch documentation and are happy to deliver occasional blog posts, as well as showcase both your solutions and code through DEMOs and tutorials.

We Offer...

A remote-first focus that allows you to set up working hours that best fit your daily routine, as long as there’s reasonable overlap with CET and EST timezones (our engineering is mostly in CET);
Room for personal and professional development through the encouragement of learning and experimenting;
The time and bandwidth to help you improve upon your personal goals (through regular 1 on 1 meetings and direct mentoring);
One planned company event during the year (previous locations include Croatia, Italy, Spain, Greece, Austria, Portugal).
Working with several motivated teams that enable you to do your best;
A generous vacation policy of five weeks, plus an additional allowance for conferences;

About Us...
In 2021, PSPDFKit announced its first strategic growth investment led by Insight Partners, a New York-based global venture capital and private equity firm focused on growth-stage software and technology companies. Insight’s investment, which totals more than $115 million, is being used to accelerate product growth, sales & marketing efforts, and fund strategic acquisitions, further expanding the capabilities of PSPDFKit’s highly adopted document processing platform.

We Value...
Continuous Improvement — We are continually growing and adapting, both as a company and as individuals; we believe the best is yet to come. We aim to learn from our mistakes, streamline our work, and remain accountable to each other.

Feedback — We value honest feedback, open collaboration, and relying on one another to continuously improve. We’re committed to listening to new ideas, being open to failure, and allowing ourselves to change our minds.

Transparency — We default to transparency in communication. We believe the ego doesn’t belong in the workplace, and that being open and honest in our communication builds and solidifies trust. We don’t shy away from the hard questions, and we welcome the opportunity to be candid.

People — We believe it’s always about people: our people and our customers. We care about each other, we trust one another, and we’re excellent to each other. We’re committed to going out of our way to help our colleagues become the best version of themselves — personally and professionally.

Creativity — We understand the world is constantly changing, so we’re on a mission to explore, experiment, and readily embrace the latest technologies. We support each other in our curiosity and creativity, because we know it unlocks empathy and enables new ways of thinking.

Character — We care about quality and we aim to get things done the right way. We believe it’s our responsibility to make the world a better place, and our commitment to helping the environment means reducing waste and coming up with creative solutions for replacing paper processes.
