Job Description
OVERVIEW
As a Staff Engineer in Ad:s, you will be working on a variety of initiatives that help support and enable engineers and delivery across the tribe. As a team we focus on what the tribe needs at any given point in time, with direction from the Head Architect and Principal Engineer, looking at large initiatives that align with business and technical goals.
We are looking for someone who loves working in a collaborative environment and likes to work on all aspects of the software stack. You will work as part of a small cross-functional team who have influence over architecting solutions, investigating innovative and emergent technologies, building developer enablement tooling, and mentoring peers.
We use a mix of modern tools and languages and passionately believe in using the best tool for the job, e.g., Golang, Node.JS, Kubernetes, Vue, React, TypeScript, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.
We utilize both Google Cloud Platform and AWS for our infrastructure, and we are responsible in educating and mentoring engineers in other teams in developing on top of these platforms.

THE CHALLENGE

Educating and evangelizing company architectural principles and constraints, driving standardization and governance within Ad:s
Communicating concepts and direction with the creation and maintenance of supporting artifacts to a variety of stakeholders, showing logical implementations and highlighting potential risks
Providing technical leadership, advice and support to teams and helping design, build, and operate solutions to complex technology problems
Prevent the spread of accidental architecture, and encourage freedom within a framework

YOUR PROFILE
Required:

3+ years of professional experience with a C-based language (e.g., Golang, C, C++, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, etc.) or Python
Ability to understand, analyze and clearly communicate complex problems to people with a varying range of skill levels
Excellent analytical skills
Passionate about quality, performance and continuous improvement

Very good English language skills

Preferred:

Experience with Infrastructure as Code
Understands IT Architecture Infrastructure (Cloud and on-prem)
Experience working as a Solution or Enterprise Architect
Experience developing and operating microservices; health checks, load balancing, observability, metrics, etc.
Familiarity with microservices, Kubernetes, and a DevOps culture

Familiarity with AWS serverless technologies such as Lambda
Optimization and scaling of microservices

What skills you can develop in our Staff Engineer position?

Solution Architecture
Full-stack development experience

JavaScript knowledge, especially using React/Vue, TypeScript and Node.js
Professional experience with Go (Golang)
Experience utilizing databases, SQL, or NoSQL
Google Cloud Platform/Amazon Web Services

The minimum monthly salary for this position is according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement, overpayment will be considered depending on qualifications and working experience.
