We are looking for a Full-stack Software Engineer (m/f/d) to join our passionate team in Vienna, Austria. At Semantic Web Company (SWC) you’ll work alongside great people with a wide variety of backgrounds and talents.

About the Role
The Full-stack Software Engineer will work on technological innovations and develop novel applications as part of European research projects and the company products, with a strong thematic focus on ESG (Environmental – Social – Governance). The role encompasses understanding requirements for (research) use cases, designing architectures and UX as well as developing the prototypical applications and deploying them into practice as part of research projects and SWC products.
Your Main Responsibilities:

Participate in research and innovation projects with a focus of developing novel technological solutions.
Work on new and innovative SWC products in the field of application development.
Collaborate with project partners and customers to understand their use cases and requirements as a basis for developing the prototypical systems and applications.
Design all aspects of the prototypes to satisfy the requirements as well as going towards a stable producible outcome.
Implement prototypes and deploy them together with project partners as part of the project activities or as part of SWC products
Iteratively improve and maintain the prototypes and applications within the project scope and beyond.

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

Web technologies knowledge (JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS)
Knowledge of one of the major JS Framework (React, Angular)
Experience with one major Web Application Framework (Spring is an advantage)
Know how of NoSQL databases (Graph Databases (GraphDB, Neo4j) are an advantage)
Understanding and knowledge about Testing of Web Applications (Unit tests, E2E tests)

Other qualifications and experiences (nice to have):

Business proficiency in English, German is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or similar
3 years of relevant experience as a Software Engineer
Enthusiasm for innovation and experimentation
Passion to write clean code
Knowledge of Semantic Web Technologies
Familiarity with research projects are an advantage
Experience with scrum methodologies desirable

The gross salary offered (full-time-equivalent) is EUR 55.000,- p.a. – adaptations and overpayment possible, depending on education, skills, and work experience.
