In every single F1 race, Sportradar systems track 360,000 car positions. That’s 8,280,000 car positions in every season. And that’s just Formula 1. You will join the Java software engineering team in Gera responsible for importing, normalizing, sanitizing, and exposing bookmaker- and sports data for internal usage, enabling Sportradar to provide secure, accurate, and reliable sports data to our clients. Besides this, we provide 2nd level support to our internal and external clients. We work closely together with development teams spread across Europe. Our business is growing, and we invest heavily in new technology and training our employees to make sure we keep our position.
THE CHALLENGE:

Develop and maintain applications such as information retrieval and aggregation of data
Validate data analysis and processing tasks via JIRA against the availability of requested data Match available data sources against the request and determine the necessary tools, such as custom Java
Focusing on testing, maintainable code, observability, and alerting.
Leading your services through the complete delivery pipeline, from design, and development, all the way to deployment and monitoring it in production.
Working in a modern, collaborative development environment using GitLab, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery.
Working with experienced Senior Developers, DevOps, and Architects and gradually getting more responsibility.

Qualifications

A degree in an IT-related field or equivalent training as a database administrator or IT specialist
First experience (Working Student/Internship) in Java development and a desire to continuously improve coding skills
A strong passion for Java and data analysis
Interest in distributed systems and big data.
Willingness to learn new technologies.
Good English skills, both written and spoken, German is definitely a big plus
Experience with modern technologies like Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
