Group Trading is an IT department supporting Erste Group's business areas Treasury Markets, Equity and Fixed Income Trading. We are collocated with trading at Erste Campus, where we provide the full spectrum of IT Services, from business analysis to implementation and integration, as well as user support, vendor management and daily operations of our trading applications.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for full-time support of our development team.

Your Tasks:

Applying refactoring techniques to simplify, optimize, and restructure the legacy code
Updating the legacy code to use newer versions of Java and its libraries
Adding new features and enhancements to the legacy codebase as per the business requirements, troubleshoot and resolve issues, document changes and updates

What you bring to the team:

Proficiency in Java (especially Version 8, 11 and 17), familiarity with Java frameworks and libraries (e.g., Spring, Hibernate, Maven)
Familiarity with legacy Java code and its challenges
Knowledge of Java performance tuning and optimization techniques as well as understanding of Java concurrency and multithreading
