Your opportunity

We are looking for a highly experienced Node.js Developer responsible for feature development and continuous improvement of our leading real-time auction platform. Your primary focus will be to develop new features and performance improvements for our existing event-driven middleware and microservices, and build highly scalable greenfield services.

This role is a senior appointment that offers you the opportunity to lead middleware and microservice development at AURENA Tech.

Your area of responsibility

Development of high-performance, horizontally scalable, Node.js middleware and microservices with an event-driven distributed architecture
Writing clean, idiomatic, well-documented TypeScript and JavaScript
Ensuring excellent code coverage with unit tests (JEST)
Integration with Kafka with Avro encoding
Integration with Elastic stack for observability
Using suitable software design patterns in an event-driven framework with one-way data flow
Designing and writing asynchronous code paths that need to incorporate graceful failure modes under peak load
Propose and evaluate alternate system designs and advocate for best fit

What makes you the right candidate?

Passionate about JavaScript and Typescript
A minimum of 5 years experience in the development of production-grade Node.js applications
Excellent knowledge of Node.js, TypeScript, and JEST
Well-versed in writing unit and integration tests
Experienced using one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
Experienced in microservice architecture
Experienced designing and implementing REST and GraphQL including GraphQL federation
Committed, conscientious personality with the ability to direct others
Ability and courage to advocate for what you believe is best for the business and team
Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English, no German skills required
Eager to learn and extend boundaries
Enjoy autonomy and a responsible, self-directed way of working
EU citizen or valid work permit for the EU

Weekly hours of work 38.5 hours
Overtime compensation for 5 hours per week included in salary

Salary

Salary range starts at EUR 60,200 gross per year
We offer a higher salary in line with your experience and skills.
