About the role
As a Frontend Software Engineer (f/m/d) you will join a cross functional product team and ship exciting new features to a global audience. We are striving to deliver the best possible user experience for our customers in the speciality coffee domain and provide a broad range of products for coffee experts. You will work closely with peers, product managers, designers, and backend developers on services that power the specialty coffee industry. We collaborate closely across departments and we acknowledge learning from each other regardless of position or experience. We believe in growing together and we welcome your contributions to architectural and implementation decisions. This role provides ample room to grow not only as an expert in your field but also as a person. We have offices in Innsbruck and Vienna, this role can be based in either one of them. Our frontend tech stack is based on Ember.js, React and TypeScript.
What you'll do

You will develop new and improve existing features of our products as part of a cross functional product team
You will understand and solve problems for our customers on a global scale
You will work in an agile environment and you will be involved in the entire software development life cycle using the Scrum framework
You will write client code that works and is compliant with our internal coding standards
You will focus on performance, testability and best practices
You will be involved in implementing and improving React components according to their technical specifications and designs
You will be part of our regular code reviews to help the team improve and share your knowledge with peers
You will learn about the speciality coffee industry and have an impact on the livelihoods of thousands of coffee producers

Our technology stack

We build our web site with Ember.js (JavaScript) and React (TypeScript)
We transpile with Vitejs
We avoid dependency hell and follow the Clean Architecture approach
Our Tests are written using QUnit and Jest
Our CI/CD pipeline is fully automated
We use the JSON:API specification to communicate with the backend

We are looking for someone with

Working experience as a software developer on a large code base in a professional environment
A deep knowledge and passion for software development with a modern JavaScript framework like Ember.js, React, Vue, or Svelte
Understanding of the complete software development life cycle
Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills
Practical experience with Unit Tests and version control software (Git)
A passion for solving real world problems and writing reusable code that lasts for years, not months
Great communication and team player-skills
The ability to turn requirements from product management, UX design and software development into performant and secure code
A strong command of written and spoken English
The willingness to bring ideas for the speciality coffee industry with both worlds in mind: customer satisfaction and technical excellence

What you can expect
The salary range for this position is € 49K to € 56K gross/year* and we look at factors like your experience and individual qualifications to determine our offer, which includes benefits like an educational and wellness budget, remote work possibilities, and working from home, flexible working hours, paid time for volunteer work, an endless stream of really great coffee, and much more. We also make our best possible offer upfront—no games. (*salary range for 2024)
