Making Future Reality together - are you in? Job Description

Develop the customer-facing web frontend for our new eyetracking device with Svelte, which, in a later step, will replace the existing UI (written in Python and QML) on our established devices as well.
Therefore, the new UI is supposed to work

with any modern browser on mobile and desktop platforms, and
with a browser for embedded devices based on Blink/WebKit.

You will be responsible for designing and implementing the UI according to best practice UX and coding standards based on simple mockups. With proper unit, component and E2E tests you will ensure that the UI works on all targets and enable continuous deployments.
Once the web frontend is feature-complete, we do not expect the ongoing maintenance to require a full-time position. Hence, in addition to maintaining the web frontend you’ll be taking over tasks concerning the backend written in Python and Rust.

Qualifications

Proven experience in leading frontend development and selecting appropriate external dependencies.
Solid experience with Svelte, Vue.js or React, along with matching test frameworks.
Understanding of user experience and user interface design principles.
Experience with MediaStream API, WebRTC, SPA and PWA.
Familiarity with app development for mobile devices with web technologies (e.g., Ionic, NativeScript, React Native).
Willingness to perform basic graphic design tasks, such as vectorizing existing pixel graphics
Interest in developing with and for resource constrained embedded systems.
Interest in our tech stack: GNU/Linux, WebRTC, Yocto, Systemd, DBus, Python 3, Rust, GStreamer, FastAPI, Docker, AWS.
Comfortable navigating lower-level IT issues concerning GNU/Linux, Systemd, DBus, etc.

For this position we offer a minimum salary according to the collective agreement starting at € 3.220,- (38.5 hrs./week) gross. Depending on qualifications and professional experience, there is of course the possibility of overpayment. Become part of our visionary team.
