ABOUT THE ROLE
Are you enthusiastic about working on mainframe applications that play pivotal roles in the operations of some of the world’s leading organizations? Intrigued by the opportunity to streamline complex infrastructures and drive continuous improvement with your knowledge of COBOL?

Join us in Zürich and work closely with the Financial Messaging Capability Unit of a prestigious client of EPAM, a multinational financial services company. You will become part of a global ensemble of 80+ dedicated members providing connection, transformation and screening services that form the backbone of our client's needs.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Work in an agile delivery pod, maintaining and enhancing the global messaging infrastructure based on zOS COBOL programs
Implement changes to the existing programs and building new functionality within the agile delivery pod maintaining our zOS platform architecture
Help in the enhancement but also integration into a central/decentral landscape providing messaging services to more than 300 upstream applications within the client
Help to design future proof solutions in a very dynamic environment
Teach the application new tricks like KAFKA integration, always on features or API service calls

REQUIREMENTS

7+ years of experience with COBOL and zOS
2+ years of experience with tools like Ansible, Jira, Gitlab
Strong Technical skills with zOS mainframe related development tools and process like COBOL program language itself, SQL and DB2, TSO Utilities, BMC, REXX, CICS, IWS (formerly TWS) and JCL
Used to agile development methods, Scrum, CI/CD principles, Strong Domain Background in Financial Messaging
Experience in RHEL, BASH, Spring Boot, Java and ISO 20022 financial messaging standards are nice to have skills
B2+ English language skill is mandatory
B2 German language skill is nice to have
