This job is about…

You will work in a cross-functional team with experts in various domains to build the next generation solutions for our customers, sprint by sprint. Your role will involve engineering, coding, and using cloud infrastructure to develop future features, solutions, APIs, and apps. With our cloud-native approach, you can focus on coding without the hassle of waiting for infrastructure. Continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and short feedback cycles give you the possibility to constantly improve your skills.

You utilize your notable expertise and skills to address challenges, provide guidance, mentor your peers, communicate with impact, and demonstrate strategic foresight. In addition to your deep technical expertise in specific areas, we anticipate a comprehensive understanding of various practices, patterns, and methodologies encompassing the entire software development lifecycle. You will work with a wide range of stakeholders, effectively integrating innovative solutions with established systems.

Our technology stack features Java, Kotlin, Python, Spring Boot, an API-first approach, GitLab, IntelliJ, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, containerization, event-driven architecture using Kafka, and microservices, among others.

Your daily business…

Your role is dynamic, and your daily business can vary greatly from day to day, including:

Ideate, plan and implement new features in close collaboration with our product owners.
Make decisions on code structure, provide code review feedback to peers, tackle diverse problems requiring in-depth analysis, creativity, and viable solutions.
Evaluate and introduce new technologies and frameworks to enhance our solutions.
Frequently collaborate with other developers, product managers, UX/UI designers, and business stakeholders to ensure that the development work aligns with business goals and user needs.
Regularly coach or mentor your colleagues, helping them improve their coding skills and grow professionally.
Keep up with latest technologies and methods, including spending time researching new tools or experimenting with new technologies that could benefit current or future solutions.
Share your knowledge and insights with the team, fueling team-wide innovation and a culture of continuous learning and provide giveback internally and externally, e.g. as meetup speaker.
Professionally prepare for key events and decision-making meetings, both within and outside the company, to communicate effectively and drive substantive discussions.
Drive technical excellence and innovation to shape the roadmap of our innovation center.

Your skills…

A passion for building world-class software with clean code as your trademark.
7+ years of hands-on contribution to software development of sensitive production solutions; experience analyzing and debugging production incidents.
You have applied experience in microservice architectures, Spring Boot, and cloud technologies like GCP, AWS, IaC across multiple projects, solutions and industries.
In your numerous previous projects, you have been responsible for designing and developing REST interfaces, along with conducting testing and addressing cross-cutting concerns.
Working with Git and CI/CD pipelines is a no-brainer for you.
Eagerness to learn and adopt emerging technologies and industry trends.
A user and data-centric mindset, with a keen understanding of customer needs.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Creativity and interest in contributing to products and ideas in our innovation center.

Based on the current Austrian Collective Agreement, we offer an annual salary of min. EUR 65.000,- (fulltime). Compensation beyond the minimum salary is dependent on your qualification and experience.
