Job description
Digital Waffle is excited to be partnered with an innovative and forward-thinking consultancy in Austria, who are looking for a talented Data Engineer to join their growing data team.
ABOUT THE JOB
Location: Austria
Salary: Up to €85,000
Hybrid (2x a month)
You must either live in Austria or be able to relocate
German professional speaking
You will be responsible for:
Conception and realization of Big Data & AI solutions in a petabyte scale
Deployment and operation of Big Data & AI solutions on cloud platforms like AWS, AZURE, VMWare and Kubernetes
Implementation of data pipelines, ETL routes and migration of existing DWH/DL systems
Advising teams, including C-level teams, on the use of data engineering and data analytics
Ensure close collaboration with other evoila teams and understanding of their concepts and solutions
Support in sales by building and maintaining customer relationships
Ensuring a long-term and cooperative relationship with our customers
You must have:
University degree in computer science, e-technology, physics or mathematics.
Alternatively: completed training as an IT specialist (m/f/d) for system integration/application development and proven professional experience
Knowledge in Big Data architectures: AWS, Azure or on on-premise Cloudera distributions.
Experience using technologies such as: Python, Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Airflow.
Hands-on experience with Docker and CI&CD.
Strong programming ability
Analytical/conceptual skills
Ability to work in a team, and customer focus
Fluent German and good English
Desirable:
Hands-on experience implementing Data Lake/Hadoop platforms
Hands-on experience implementing and performance-tuning Hadoop/Spark implementations
Proficient in database architecture and operations such as MongoDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL
Experience with one or more relevant tools (Sqoop, Nifi, Kafka, Oozie, Hue, Zookeeper, HCatalog, Solr)
Experience with one or more SQL MPP technologies (Hive, Impala, Spark SQL, Presto, Trino)
Experience in developing software code in one or more programming languages (Java, Python, Scala, etc.)
Experience with AWS services such as Glue, EMR, Athena, Kinesis, S3, Sagemaker, Lambda functions
Experience with Azure services
Stakeholder management and customer-facing skills
