What does a great Senior Software Development Engineer I do?
CETS is a B2B travel booking system for the Central European market. We consolidate the diverse tour operator offer platforms into a unified user experience for travel agencies. The product team (development and project management) is located in Vienna.
Responsibilities include:

Database Design and Development (SQL Server): Ensure database operations and integrity, performance optimization and monitoring.
Reporting (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS): Staging from operational database to billing and reporting system, Adhoc reporting and data analysis.
Coding (C#): Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code to provide data via Services (WebAPI, WCF, SignalR).
Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers and other developers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Technical Leadership: Provide technical expertise and innovation to ensure the overall quality of the team's output.
Architecture: Contribute to the architectural decisions of the software, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
Problem Solving: Identify and solve database and software-related problems.
Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation related to the software development process.
Innovation: Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in software engineering and propose innovative solutions.

Who we are looking for in this role:

Education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development, with a focus on relational database technologies (SQL Server preferred).
Education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Proficiency in database development and related technologies, strong understanding of relational databases (SSIS, SSRS, ADO.NET), multidimensional database knowledge (SSAS) is a plus.
Experience with web service technologies (Web API, WCF, SignalR), web frameworks (e.g., Angular, React) is a plus.
Familiarity with databases (SQL, MSX, NoSQL) and experience in optimizing database queries and Stored Procedures.
Knowledge of software development tools, Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, version control systems, build tools.
Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Communication: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
