Mixed Reality Designer and Developer Internship

In this role you design and develop dynamic, interactive and user-friendly Mixed Reality experiences and 3D animations, within the ABB Power Protection product group, with a particular focus on User Experience and User Interface design. Reporting to the Product Owner of the Connectivity, Predictivity ans Service Agile Team, you will make sure 3D animations and Mixed Reality experiences meet users' expectations. You will work on a cross-functional AGILE team, to improve workforce performance and training and enhance customer experiences connecting digital and physical products and workspaces.

Your responsibilities

Model, rig and animate 3D digital twins for real-time rendering
Optimize 3D models to create low poly and efficient assets
Design, develop and maintain 3D animations and Mixed Reality complex simulation and augmentation of ABB Power Protection products for customer experience and interactive sales presentation, scripted hands-on Mixed Reality experiences designed to accurately simulate service work and product operation and service, sales and end-user training
Actively cooperate in defining priorities, processes, workflows, effective content production, and implementation and keep them updated
Provide inputs to business cases to help determine if 3D animation and Mixed Reality is a viable solution for various use cases, including development time, hardware and software cost, maintainability, and value-add within the business
Train team members in the use of the authoring tool, and create guidelines to make it easy for anyone to create non-complex engaging and interactive 3D and MR experiences

Your background

Basic knowledge in the field of Extended Reality or 3D animation
CAD software or similar knowledge and creation of 3D models and animations
Knowledge of PTC Creo Illustrate, PTC Vuforia Studio, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Guides, Unity (MRTK), or similar authoring environments is a plus
Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform and Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus
Programming skills (C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS) are a plus
Ability to work in an Agile environment, manage time and prioritize tasks independently and maintain objectives
Fluent command of English, both written and spoken.
