Division Chief Financial Officer, Large Motors and Generators (flexible location)

As Division CFO, this position will act as a strategic business partner to the division President and division management team to develop a global business model and optimize financial performance across countries and regions including oversight of relevant Finance Group Functions and Global Business Services. You will support effective business decisions by monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting financial data in order to evaluate various business alternatives and recommend the most appropriate business solutions alongside driving and supporting value chain optimization to maximize net income of the global Division. As part of the Motion Finance leadership team, you will govern definition and implementation of global standards, as well as business specific guidelines in financial control processes contributing to the overall Business strategy deployment and success. You will report to the Division President, Large Motors and Generators. ***The ideal candidate is located in Europe.*** Willingness to travel is required.

Your responsibilities
Contributes to the development and deployment of the strategy in the Division and provides input to the strategy of the Business Area.
Supports the Division financial long-range plan, financial feasibility of strategy and its implementation (follow-up on strategic actions and key performance indicators (KPI’s / OKR), full potential initiatives) and professional contribution and support to the Division President.
Leads the business planning process by providing necessary analysis of current and future performance.
Ensures effective and cost-efficient support platforms are established for business lines in line with Group requirements, including oversight of relevant Finance Group Functions.
Monitors financial performance and have close communication with Division President and Controlling organization.
Drives and follows up on the achievement of set performance targets, rings the bell, reacts quickly when needed and facilitates actions to close the gaps, shares the best practices.
Evaluates and follows up on investments, divestments, acquisitions and re-structuring projects. Partners with the Division President in driving local demand orders and safeguarding the overall interest of ABB.
Provides stewardship to ensure overall financial governance. Drives implementation of processes to ensure compliance with Group policies and requirements in the areas of accounting, controlling, reporting, treasury, planning, tax, real estate and information systems.
Ensures an efficient organization of financial accounting and reporting processes in line with Group GAAP, local legal and tax requirements. Ensures financial reporting management in accordance with defined quality standards and required business/financial system closing schedules.
Guarantees transparency in financial reporting and disclosures. Oversees implementation of internal controls regarding financial and non-financial operations.
Ensures compliance with corporate and country standards, regulations, and guidelines. Supports internal and external audits. Signs off Assurance letter for the area of responsibility.
Supports risk assessment of business decisions based on knowledge of local regulations, customers, markets and overall interest of ABB.
Responsible for implementation of key improvement programs across area of responsibility and for optimization of legal setup, capital structure and asset management in co-operation Finance group functions.
Drives continuous improvements in cost efficiency and implements group function cost reduction initiatives across area of responsibility.
Identifies and implements Finance Best Practices within the Division.
Ensures Finance Competency Assessments for finance teams are in place. Establishes processes to ensure appropriate personal development actions are implemented.
Leads training and development activities for finance personnel in the Division.
Ensures, through partnering with division HR leadership, that the area of responsibility is organized, staffed, skilled and led.
Guides, motivates and develops direct/indirect teams within HR policies. Facilitates active engagement and networking of the finance community within Division.
Your background
Master’s degree in a relevant field, as well as at least 10 years’ experience of Business Controlling roles, preferably in a large global / regional business environment including project controlling.
Excellent knowledge of finance processes and tools complemented with the courage and curiosity to challenge the norm to continuously improve.
Strong Business Acumen and a broad industrial market / customer appreciation to enable outside in thinking and acting.
Track record of execution and delivering results in international environment.
Recognized as great team player and appreciated for collaboration, communication and business partnering skills.
Fluent in English. Any other language is an asset.
