Job description

Job Role: Frontend Developer

Salary: Up to €70k (Dependent on Experience)

Location: Berlin – hybrid working

We are looking to hire a Frontend Developer to join a Tech for Good company based in Berlin. Responsibilities for the role entail developing a new high-performance, server-side rendered NextJS platform capable of handling millions of hits per minute. Additionally, collaborating with Product, UX/UI Designers, and Engineers to conceptualize, design, and implement user-facing features is expected. Implementing product features that directly impact user engagement, experience, and monetization is a crucial aspect of the role, as well as assuming ownership of the entire development cycle from architectural design to deployment and maintenance, ensuring appropriate unit and integration tests are written and deployed.

Skills you should hold (with over 3 years of experience):

Proficiency in building web applications using modern JS libraries/frameworks such as React, Next.js, and TypeScript, with a willingness to expand knowledge in these areas.
Proficiency in "Server-Side rendering with React."
Significant professional experience in modern web application development.
Experience writing unit and end-to-end tests.
Experience with multilingual applications and understanding of UX design principles.
Experience in building/automating CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum or Kanban) is advantageous.

Additional skills which are advantageous:

Experience with JVM Languages.
Familiarity with search technologies (e.g., ElasticSearch, Apache Solr, Lucene).
Knowledge of machine learning and natural language processing (NLP) techniques.
Previous experience in a startup environment.
