Calypso is the main business critical system in the Calypso Business Platform supporting Markets business processes in the front-office, mid-office, back-office, accounting and risk areas for all asset classes. It is a vendor provided solution, part of the Nasdaq FinTech Solutions portfolio. In close cooperation with the vendor, our team of JAVA developers maintains and evolves the solution in terms of bug fixing, continuous performance enhancements and new functionalities.

What to do:

Work closely with business to create solutions for new requirements in a complex, distributed application
Support the Business Analysts when investigating Production issues and document your findings
Help to expand the automated tests to find any regressions in the upgrade process
Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on solution design, clean coding and unit testing
Liaise with other developers, solution manager, analyst and architect to identify new features and solutions to meet business needs
Follow Agile principles like Scrum or Kanban
Investigate issues and find solutions or adjust the code to match the expected behavior
Work or enhance our tech stack which is currently: Java, Tibco rendezvous, JUnit 5, Spring Boot, Oracle DB and the Atlassian Stack

You check these boxes:

Core skills:

Excellent Java skills (back-end and fat client)
Reading, understanding and debugging existing code
Java performance tuning and multithreading
JAVA frameworks: mainly spring boot but experience with JBoss and J2EE are a plus

Additional skills:

Linux operating system integration
SQL knowledge (Oracle, SQL database integration)
xml, xslt standards

Experience with following tools is a plus:

Gradle
Git
Jenkins
