You’re a seasoned engineer with a passion for building smart, automatically tested, and well-functioning systems. You want to grow yourself and help others to grow, you are not afraid to ask nor to share, you want to do the right thing!
You know your best practices, microservice architecture, testing, automation, cloud development, and the tools that come with it. Perfect code doesn’t exist, but you still chase it, without giving up on delivering value.

We would love to talk with you if you recognize yourself in some of the following:

Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science with 3+ years of Information Technology, or a related field
Strong expertise in GCP, Alibaba Cloud is a plus
Solid programming skills in Java. Exposure to GoLang is a plus
Proficiency in Sprint Boot microservices and API management
Docker, Kubernetes, or other container technologies using modern DevOps practices
Familiarity with event-driven architecture with expertise in at least one event streaming platform like Solace(preferred), Kafka, etc.
Experience with a modern, fully automated integration and deployment process
In-depth understanding of design patterns with strong technical aptitude
NoSQL and relational database technologies
Logging, alerting, tracing, and debugging in the cloud
Security concepts especially around the cloud
GCP certification(s) is a plus but not mandatory
Agile product development and experience working in global cross-functional teams is a plus

What you'll be doing day to day

You’ll actively participate in the transformation of IKEA into a more event-driven company by collaborating, making technology decisions, and developing event-based systems based on business and product strategy, leading to a better experience for our customers. You’ll apply the latest technologies and practices aligning with Ikea’s values to drive change.

Some of the daily responsibilities include but not limited to:

Develop a very good understanding of retail business and order management
Follow agile product development practices of building software products
Share and grow knowledgebase via different channels
Guide management in making effective technical and business decisions
Onboard, coach, and mentor engineers
Support continuous improvement culture within the team
