Over 200 experts in the Center for Digital Safety & Security work on the latest information and communication technologies to build and use our systems highly securely and reliably in the context of comprehensive digitalization and global networking. Our Competence Unit Cooperative Digital Technologies team develops data-based ICT solutions for various application scenarios. As a reliable partner to industry and authorities, we work on distributed data-centered solutions to enhance resilience and public safety. We support companies and authorities in the design and implementation of distributed data infrastructures and data-based applications.
SOFTWARE-ENGINEER (M/F/D) FOR EMERGENCY & CRISIS MANAGEMENT
CENTER FOR DIGITAL SAFETY & SECURITY
As part of our interdisciplinary team, you will develop concepts and solutions in the context of emergency and crisis management as a technical contact in close coordination with various user groups and technical partners.
You will develop technical components for interoperable, trustworthy data exchange between stakeholders based on open-source components.
You will bring your experience in distributed architectures, interoperability, SSI, and data management to actively shape new innovative solutions.
You will apply your experience in ICT, hazard, crisis, and process management to design digital decision support systems.
You will design solutions to make information exchange in crisis and disaster situations efficient and effective.
You will develop innovative solutions considering legal frameworks, supporting the processes of stakeholders. Thus, your work directly impacts practice, influences the state of the art, and increases the safety of the population in crisis and disaster situations.
Your solution concepts are oriented to the requirements of users, such as authorities and organisations with security tasks, incorporating the latest research results and software engineering methods.
You can apply the developed methods practically and implement them in innovative demonstration projects.
You are a competent and reliable technical contact for colleagues and partners and take responsibility for a specific subject area.
You work independently on new subjects and are capable of linking knowledge from various domains.
Your position also offers the opportunity for appropriate lecturing and publication activities if desired.
Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner:
Completed studies (at least MSc.) in Computer Science, Crisis Management, Natural Hazard Management, Environmental Hazard Research, or similar
Excellent knowledge of at least one high-level programming language (preferably Java or Python)
Basic knowledge of web technologies (HTTP, web servers, data exchange protocols), security (authentication/authorisation, encryption), and software architectures
Experience with software engineering tools (version control with Git, virtualisation with Docker, testing)
Knowledge of modern software frameworks is advantageous: Java - Gradle, Spring, Python - Flask, TypeScript - React, Angular, node.js, nest.js, docker-compose, Gitlab CI
Knowledge in the areas of data spaces, decentralized & self-sovereign identities (SSI), or semantic web technologies is desirable
Excellent knowledge of modern software development processes and technical team management, especially in agile settings
Experience in handling and implementing software projects
Experience in project management is advantageous
Interest in new technical topics, broad technical understanding
Hands-on mentality and affinity for creating sustainable technical solutions
Willingness to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams, enjoyment in communication and ongoing exchange with colleagues
Excellent language skills in German and/or English, both written and spoken
What to expect:
The minimum gross annual salary on a full-time basis (38,5 h / week) according to the collective agreement is EUR 57.890,-. The actual salary will be determined individually, based on your qualifications and experience.
