Your personal sphere of influence:
As a university assistant prae doc, you will complement the research team around Prof. Ahrends' working group.
The focus of the planned research is on the development of methods and algorithms for the identification of lipids and further elucidation of mass-spectrometry data on known lipid classes.
Profound knowledge in the area of machine learing and artificial intelligence are therefore required.
The research project takes place in an interdisciplinary framework, and combines bioinformatical methods with practive-relevant questions. Thus, this position requires a high level of commitment and communication.

Your future tasks:
You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:

You are involved in research projects and scientific studies in the area of bioinformatics.
We expect you to finalize your dissertation agreement within 12 months.
You work on your dissertation and its completion.
You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
You take on administrative tasks in research and teaching.

This is part of your personality:

Completed Master’s degree or Diploma in the field of computer science or equivalent qualification.
First practice in scientific writing.
Comprehensive experience if software development.
Profound knowledge in programming languages such as JAVA, C++, C# und Python.
Knowledge in the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Profound knowledge in efficient algorithms and data structures.
Desirable: first experience in handling of analysis methodes around biomolekules (lipids, proteins, metabolites).
Didactic skills / experience with e-learning.
Very good knowledge of German and English (min. B2).
You should be a team player with high social skills.

What we offer:
The contract period upon employment in 4 years. Initially limited to 1,5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 4 years if the employer does not submit a non-extension declaration within the first 12 months.
