Contribute to research in the field of big data processing (as described below)
Develop efficient algorithms and architectures to address ingest and real-time processing of massive amounts of data, for example, for anomaly detection
Bridge academic research and commercial technology development: Collaborate with our development teams and other internal and external stakeholders
Actively take part in scientific and industrial cooperation projects

In our research center situated in the heart of the Linz Institute of Technology (LIT) as well as in our Vienna and Hagenberg offices, engineers and researchers collaborate to build next generation technologies that help companies to run better, safer and more innovative software. Qualifications

MSc or PhD in Computer Science or a related field
Strong interest in performance and resource optimization as well as in algorithm development for indexing, pattern matching, sketching, query optimization
Experience with real-world projects in the area of big data processing (see research field above)
5+ years of experience in Java development, including architectural design
Experience with Kafka, Spark, Lucene, or related technologies
Familiarity with test-driven development, clean code and design patterns
Enjoying passing on knowledge and experience to fellow team members
Excited to learn new technologies
Excellent English skills (oral and written)
