SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER - JAVA BACKEND (F/M/X)The role of the Senior Software Engineer is located in the department responsible for the development of our Operational Management Center, OMC. This product ensures the safely and timely travel of thousands of trains every day in Austria and helps to provide a smooth train operation for our customer. This safety-critical, redundant and highly available system is further developed according to new customer requirements You would take part in architectural design workshops, define the design and lead other colleagues in the execution of the development. You support junior colleagues and have the motivation to provide the best possible product and quality for our customers. YOUR CHALLENGEYou are responsible definition and implementation of the architectural design of new and existing software solutions for the product The development and maintenance of (mainly) JAVA SE backends with high focus on quality, but also the timeline and costs You define and implement unit tests to provide the best possible quality Writing detailed documentation in order to be able to follow all development steps You communicate the development status and critical issues clearly in a short and concise format Identification and implementation of improvements is part of your daily work Close interwork within a team of 12 developers and testers You provide 3rd level support in the case of field issues YOUR PROFILECompleted technical degree (HTL, Uni, FH) in Informatics, Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar At least 5 years of experience and expertise in JAVA backend development You have working experience in the following areas: Build & Deployment, e.g. GIT, Jenkins, Maven Middleware, e.g. Spring Boot, Camel, RabbitMQ Virtualization, e.g. OpenStack, Kubernetes Linux based environment Experience in system hardening is highly beneficial You have a competitive mindset, strong desire to "win" paired with a great team spirit Fluency in English language, German skills are beneficial WE OFFERThe salary for this position starts at EUR 65.000 gross p.a. Actual compensation is based on experience and qualification.
