Our customer, the Central European University (CEU PU) is a research-intensive university specializing in the social sciences, humanities, law, public policy and management. It is accredited in the United States, Austria and Hungary. CEU's mission is to promote academic excellence, state-of-the-art research, research-based teaching and learning and civic engagement, in order to contribute to the development of open societies. For the earliest possible starting date we are looking for an Datenschutzexperte/Privacy Expert (m/f/d)Main tasks: Working in close cooperation with/under the instruction of CEU's General Counsel in the following matters: Providing subject matter expertise in the understanding of EU privacy laws that impact CEU PU operations. Providing expert guidance and advice to colleagues with regards to personal data processing and contracting, privacy impact assessments, regulatory investigations, employee data management, etc. Maintaining incident management records and reporting data breaches to local authorities. Developing privacy notices, guidelines, processes, trainings and controls. Assessing, discussing, mitigating, and documenting the privacy impacts of new processes, as well as cooperating with stakeholders to achieve the desired level of privacy compliance. Supporting the effective implementation of CEU PU's Data Protection Policy. Guaranteeing that CEU PU's processes follow all the relevant privacy related internal and external rules and regulations (including laws, agreements, policies and other guidelines). Raising privacy awareness, regularly consult, educate and coach stakeholders on the latest external and internal regulations and processes. Recquirements: Austrian university degree in law, bar exam is an advantage 5+ years post-graduation work experience gained at a recognized international law firm and/or as an in-house lawyer/privacy expert at a multinational company/international environment, Austrian DPO qualification is an advantage, Full proficiency in written and spoken legal English and German, Excellent communication skills, Superior aptitude for developing working relationships with a broad range of professionals and stakeholders at multiple levels, Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger legal team, Hard working with creative problem-solving skills, and ability to meet the challenges within a complex academic environment. Proven ability to meet strict deadlines with competing demands and coping with a high workload. Compensation: The annual gross salary starts at appr. 60,000 EUR, with the possibility of additional remuneration based on qualifications and experience.
