Developer Experience Engineer - Vienna, remote EU/UKAT - ViennaTricentis is looking for a software engineer to help improve the developer experience of our internal SaaS platform. Our products help IT teams test complex software applications. We're bringing our different products across a lot of different technologies into one common SaaS platform. We want to make it easy for all our product teams to understand, implement, and operate this SaaS platform. We need you to: be the human API that connects our product teams to our technology make it easier for our developers to use our platform help other teams contribute to building the platform This role reports to the head of developer relations. The job you'll be doing has a lot of similarities to DevRel, but your "customers" are all your fellow employees. What you'll do Consult with product managers, developers, and technology architects from other Tricentis product teams to help them discover and understand the services the SaaS platform offers. You might whiteboard a user data flow, answer questions about the features of the platform, or review their code. Identify and drive developer experience improvements in our platform. What makes it hard for other teams to get started? What questions do we keep answering over and over again? You'll let us know and make sure we get them fixed. Assist teams in contributing to the platform. We have an "inner source" model where teams can contribute features, improvements, and fixes to the services that make up our platform. You'll organize these contributions, help review them, and guide teams through getting their changes merged in. Improve our internal documentation. What does the product do? What APIs are available? How should an application store and pass state between services? We want our internal platform docs to rival the best developer documentation you've ever used. You'll collaborate with our documentation team to get us there. Write samples, demos, and libraries that help other teams understand and implement our services. Some people learn best by reading code. You'll write the code that shows them how things work. Apply what you've learned to our external developer offerings, too. Many of the services on our platform have APIs that our customers will use. Your job is mostly to enable our internal teams, but you'll have some opportunities to help us create a great developer experience for those customers. Who you are You have deep technical chops and a solid understanding of how to apply technology to solve business problems. You like explaining technology as much as you like building it. Maybe you've spent some time as a sales engineer, solutions architect, professional services developer, or partner engineer. Maybe you already support and enable other developers as a developer advocate, technology evangelist, or support engineer for a developer product. You're comfortable in more than one programming language. We're mostly C# and Java, but there are some teams using JavaScript (Node), Ruby, and Go, so you'll need to sling a few lines of sample code in all those. You'll need to know a couple of languages very well and be willing to learn enough to be dangerous in the others. You love making your fellow developers more awesome. Unlocking the ah-ha moment for them. Eliminating friction and frustrations in their daily life. Giving them tools that feel like superpowers. Where you are For time zone reasons you should be in the US or Europe. You can be remote or in one of our offices. You'll be working with teams all over the world, so we don't care much where you are as long as you're in a country where we do business. You might talk to Austin, Australia, and Austria all on the same day.
