Job Purpose: As more and more IoT devices are rolled out in the field, the collected data could be used to realize several new use-cases by using machine learning. For instance, many tracking devices include acceleration sensors to activate/deactivate the GNSS while the vehicle is not moving. However, using machine learning, this acceleration data could also be used to detect shocks leading to damages of the vehicle. To realize such use cases, know how in many technical fields like data science, machine learning, software development, embedded development, communication technologies and cloud technologies are required. As Senior Java Backend Developer you will work in a multidisciplinary team together with our consultants to realize customer projects in IoT and machine learning. Further you will work together with our solution managers and solution architects to build solutions for our product portfolio. What you do: You design the software architecture for robust solutions considering scale, security, reliability, and cost. You develop new software or modify existing software (platforms) to meet projects and program goals. You understand the process of software development well enough to mentor and guide others when necessary. Be involved also in operation if necessary: „you build it, you run it" What you offer: Hands-on experience in designing software solutions, designing and implementing microservices, self-contained systems, or SOA architectures for the realization of highly available, scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
