To strengthen the management team at the office in Vienna we are looking for a Head of Product Engineering (f/m/x)Train Control & Safety Systems YOUR FUTURE ROLEYour department is responsible for all activities that are carried out to design, develop, and test products in the area of railway signaling Automatic Train Protection Systems (ETCS). This includes the management of software development, subcontractors, hardware integration and qualification. You are managing a substantial team to provide safety relevant railway signaling products to meet the needs of the groups' international transportation business. Based in Vienna you are reporting to the Head of Product Engineering of the Business Unit Main Line Systems. Structure and manage international product engineering team for train control systems (about 25 people) Successfully deliver a program of product engineering projects on time and committed estimated budget Skill, competence and resource management to align an internationally distributed team Manage the technical planning of the products from innovation to maintenance in coordination with product management Responsibility to plan multi-year budgets and resource needs Ensure that project reporting is performed and report consolidated result periodically in a matrix organization Make sure the solutions are delivered on time within the respective safety, security and quality processes Manage constant improvement e.g. in processes, efficiency, performance, risk management and promote flexibility to peer engineering departments JOB REQUIREMENTSTechnical education at a university level (TU / FH) Professional expertise: substantial knowledge of software engineering and project management principles and practices Experience in an industrial sector like railways, automotive, telecom or process control (Ideally) 7 years' experience in software engineering domain including management experience. Knowledge of safety critical systems, especially rail signaling systems, are considered beneficial. Leadership and management skills: Thorough knowledge of management principles and practice, and an ability to promote open communication, innovation, and performance. Experience in software development for complex systems or embedded devices, covering the full lifecycle. Agile development (SCRUM) experience, as well as management of internationally distributed teams is considered beneficial. Very good command of English and good command of German language OUR CLIENT OFFERSA full time employment contract with attractive remuneration, starting with 80,000 g.p.a. plus bonus, depending on skills and experience An excellent working experience within a professional multinational environment.
