Our Center for Digital Safety & Security in Vienna invites applications for an: Internship in the field of "Quantum Key Distribution (QKD)" - Development & implementation of a simulator into test frameworks- Center for Digital Safety & Security -IMAGINEQuantum Key Distribution (QKD) is one of the solutions for the next generation of secure communication networks resistant to attacks from quantum computers. In our Cryptography team, we develop a system that manages the keys within the network. As part of our multidisciplinary research team, you will implement a solution for a component during the internship. ENGAGEUnder the guidance of our team, you will develop a simulator that provides key material in the same way the hardware would and complies to a standardized interface. You will help us implement the developed simulator into the test framework. You will develop your practical skills in using the latest technologies and methods. ACHIEVEYou will gain practical experience with one of the leading research companies in Austria. You support us in our international project and get exciting insights into our technological environment. You will have not only the opportunity to discuss your work experiences and results with experienced scientific peers, but also to connect with other bachelor's, master's or PhD students. Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner: You study in the field of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) You are enrolled in the +4 academic semester at an Austrian university Programming capabilities in C++, Python or Java. Knowledge about IP-Networks is beneficial You enjoy application-oriented questions from industry You have a high level of commitment and team spirit You have good knowledge of English and/or German in word and writing What to expect:Start-date: possible as of May 2023 Duration of the internship: between 2 and 6 months A remuneration of at least EUR 1.168,-- gross per month for 38.5 hours per week.
