Do you have a combination of deep technical expertise with Java and strong interpersonal skills? Do you enjoy leading a team, people management and do you have a passion for solving complex technical problems?

If the answer to these is ‘Yes!’, then EPAM has a rare opportunity for you to join us as a Software Engineering Team Leader and work with highly skilled and engaged engineers in Zurich with a longstanding EPAM customer.

This position requires strong technical background with the ability to act as people manager for a cross-project resource group of up to 7 people.

Responsibilities
Provide technology solutions that will solve business problems and strengthen our position as digital leaders
Design, plan and deliver sustainable solutions using Java and the related ecosystem
Help lead our growing team of analysts and engineers to build new applications and develop further existing ones
Provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing requirements and initiatives to support and enhance existing applications
Act as people manager for a cross-project resource group of up to 7 people
Help in technical interviewing of new candidates
Support employees in professional growth and career development
Ensure a necessary and sufficient level of employees' professional motivation (through financial and non-financial methods), expectation management
Handle conflicts and employees under performance issues
Support and promote the corporate culture within people group
Support the onboarding and adaptation of newcomers in client environment
Help subordinates to solve administrative issues
Requirements
5 years+ as a Java software engineer/developer
Expert level of knowledge of Spring Framework, Spring Boot, SOAP & REST Webservices, JPA (Hibernate), SQL, Junit and recent Java versions
Solid experience with Git, Maven, Jenkins, Jira, Sonar, Tomcat and Linux
Any cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP/PCF) and container (Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift) experience is strongly welcome
2+ years of experience in people management for small teams
Proficient English communication skills to drive precise and unambiguous discussions about professional, personal and sensitive topics
Be enthusiastic and a Servant Leader
Be ready for occasional extra mile on top of project activities based on resource team's demand
