CTO / Lead Developer- for a purpose driven startup (m/f/d)
Our client is a photovoltaic service provider that offers turnkey photovoltaic installations and covers everything from planning to installation, operation and even the financial aspects of it. They are growing full speed and are looking for a CTO for a purpose driven startup (m/f/d) in Vienna to support their growth.
These exciting tasks are waiting for you:
You will be in the lead to build and scale the technology backbone, one of the key pillars of our success
You will define the technology vision and roadmap alongside the business value proposition
You will help to co-create the product roadmap ensuring feasibility, scalability and having an eye on cost impact
You will own the overall technological architecture and platform of the products as well as its short- and long-term evolution
You will ensure that our technology interfaces (order site, operations workflow tools, consumer-product app etc.) are cutting-edge and follow latest technology paradigms
You will eventually be responsible for building reusable and scalable architecture, infrastructure, and platforms to enable business growth
You will take a hands-on approach and engage in coding when needed to help teams illustrate best practices
You will constantly be looking for better ways of solving technical problems and designing evolutionary solutions while managing cost implications and not being afraid of challenging the status quo
You will design and own recruiting, onboarding, and technical up-skilling (e.g., engineering practices for higher code quality) for our growing number of product team members
You will mentor and coach the technology team both on skills (e.g., with code reviews) and behavioural development (e.g., leadership)
Your experience so far:
5+ years relevant experience in technical management and software development as a CTO, experienced developer, or technical lead
Experienced technologist with deep insight into newest tech stacks and trends, able to articulate and make build vs buy decisions as well technology selection decisions
Deep knowledge in cloud technologies, DevOps approach and a track record building scalable cloud-native product (e.g., using React.js, Go, Docker, Kubernetes)
A track record in defining and delivering technological vision and roadmaps – steering based on OKRs and business value
Strong background in hands-on software development – able to “lead by doing” when needed in coding, architecture design or team management
Good understanding of agile mindset and experience in balancing product priorities and technology/architecture/tech debt priorities
High energy and passionate individual who inspires teammates to reach their maximum potential, tries new solutions, is avid to learn and is not afraid to learn
Embraces a culture of trust, free thought, complete transparency & result focus
Fluent in English (German a plus)
