We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our Mobile Apps teams at zooplus, Europe’s leading e-tailer for pet food and pet supplies. With an annual double-digit growth rate, we have already successfully rolled out our business model in 30 European countries and we are expecting further sustainable growth in European e-commerce.
We are an ambitious and creative team on our mission to shape the future of mobile apps. In your role as Mobile Backend Engineer, you will define, extend and maintain the services that power our mobile apps. Your experience and opinions matter, so you will also play a vital role in planning and defining new features. Free thinking and collaboration are highly encouraged!

Tech Stack for that position is Java, Python, AWS (for example API Gateway, Lambdas, RDS...)
Must have

5+ years practical experience in software development with Java, Spring, Python, REST API concepts, understanding of databases
Hands-on experience with DevOps tools and practices (Kubernetes, CI, monitoring and alerting, AWS) and design patterns
Drive for quality: Clean Code principles, TDD, knowing when to apply best practices
Shared ownership mindset: as a self-organized, autonomous teams, we take end-to-end responsibility for what we deliver together
Fluency in English and good communication skills
Nice to have

Experience with writing services meeting the specific needs of mobile apps
Experience with Backend For Frontend approach
Experience with GraphQL
