SIEAERO is a corporate startup within Siemens Energy’s Transmission Lifecycle Service business. Our goal is to revolutionize the way utilities inspect their overhead lines through use of cutting-edge sensor systems and the power of AI.
As an Expert in Software Engineering, you are part of an entrepreneurial startup that wants to revolutionize the way utilities inspect their grid. Instead of inspecting manually, we utilize mobile 2D and 3D sensor data and are working on processing and interpreting both 2D and 3D data to replace manual inspections.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Senior software engineer (f/m/d) with solid professional background and long-term experience in software as well hardware engineering.

Your responsibilities
You work closely together with our DevOps teams to create the optimal solution for our customers and our business.
You will contribute to our code base by implementing new features, reviewing code and revising existing solutions.
In doing so, you specify the software architecture based on the system requirements and document architectural views, decisions and general guidelines
You support in the development and construction of a maintenance, service and modernization concept for our sensor systems
Together with your colleagues you will work very closely with our customers on their requirements and collect feedback and use this as input for your work.
You support the design and setup of our IT and cloud infrastructure that we need to process, make accessible and archive hundreds of terabytes of image and other data.
You ensure operation of our IT infrastructure, data center in Graz / Erlangen together with our IT partner.
Your Profile
University degree in IT, computer sciences or similar
Hands-on mentality and willingness to develop software and always keep an eye on IT security and state-of-the-art mechanisms.
Experience in enterprise IT system and solution architectures, data center operations, cloud infrastructure, container solutions (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes), security, Linux operating system and storage solutions
Solid programming and development skills (e.g. Python, C/C++, Matlab), ideally in a Linux environment
Practical experience in the design and implementation of software systems for on-premises and/or cloud infrastructures is an advantage.
Solid English language skills, German would be helpful
You are eager to never stop learning
You enjoy working independently within a team of researchers and developers and you are comfortable to react flexibly to frequent changes
You show enthusiasm for what you do, creativity in how you approach problems, think critically, be strong in communication with the team and our customers
Ideally, you have previous experience in a start-up or similar fast-moving organization and are willing to dive into this adventure with us
