Description SmartStream is embarking its most exciting journey in recent times. To continue to service and support the world's top banks and asset managers we are constantly innovating to cement our industry leading position for the next decade.

This is a technical role where you will have an opportunity to work in a company with operations around the globe. You will be involved in designing, developing and implementing the financial products for the world’s leading Retail Banks. This role will be primarily responsible for the analysis, architectural design and implementation of a web back-end framework based on the Kafka event streaming platform.

Job Responsibilities This role will largely be focused around analysis, architectural design and web framework implementation. Responsibilities include:

Design, develop and maintain complex web applications based on the Kafka streaming platform

Build reusable code and libraries for future use

Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms

Provide recommendations for continuous improvements

Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientist, business users, project managers and other engineers to achieve elegant solutions

Key SkillsProfessional experience with Java 8/11

Git, Maven, Jenkins Pipelines

Spring Framework and Spring Boot Microservices

Apache Kafka Event Streaming Platform

Experience with Hibernate and JPA,

REST, Swagger/OpenAPI

gRPC and Protocol Buffer

Practical experience of SQL in relational databases like Oracle, DB2 or MSSQL Server

Fluent in German and English

Desirable SkillsExperience in Docker, Kubernetes

Experience in Kibana

Experience in Elasticsearch

Experience in Kibana

Experience in Angular, Typescript

QualificationsEngineering Graduate with Computer Science / Information Technology background or similar

Experience5 to 8 years of programming experience
