We are looking for a passionate and talented Research Engineer (m/f/d) who wants to drive the development of next generation security methods for malicious website detection using cutting-edge machine learning algorithms in order to protect millions of Cyan customers from emerging Internet threats.
Your Future Role
Actively participate in on-going research projects
Define and solve novel problems in the Internet security using machine learning and deep learning
Collect and label data to create research prototypes and transform them from the research stage to production-ready services
Improve current research solutions that are serving production ready-data outputs
Improve the end-to-end machine learning pipeline from data acquisition to model evaluation and deployment
Monitor and maintain the portfolio of operational machine learning models and components
Support technology adoption and integration of data science solutions into the company’s flagship products
Profile
Completed BSc or MSc studies in engineering (or natural sciences) preferably with a background in computer science
Bring in knowledge of writing robust Python scripts and services
Experience with frameworks for machine learning (Tensoflow/Pytorch/Scikit-learn/Pyspark), tools for MLOps (MLflow/ClearML) and data labeling (e.g. LabelStudio)
Experience with using AWS cloud platforms for deploying containerized services using Docker
Knowledge of standard software development tools (Git, GitLab CI, Confluence and JIRA)
Preferably some knowledge or experience with threat intelligence or malware analysis (e.g., completed security courses/certifications are of advantage, or willingness to familiarize oneself with this subject areas)
Additional knowledge of other programming languages is beneficial but not mandatory (preferably Javascript/Java/Rust)
Published research papers or technical reports are a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with hands-on mentality for creating sustainable technical solutions and implementing them in practice
Good communication skills and ability to work independently within an agile team
Fluent English skills, German is of advantage

Appropriate and performance-related remuneration (monthly gross salary according to the collective agreement for employees of companies in the field of automatic data processing and information technology services of at least € 3,190.00 for the ST1 control level activity family).
