The Research Studio Smart Applications Technologies (SAT) works on Digital Cooperation Ecosystems and Building Information Modelling. For our applied research work we look for a: Senior Researcher/Software Architect - (f/m/d)Full time, Vienna, AustriaWhat you will be doing?The focus of your work will be the development of novel Web-based systems making use of recommendation and matching algorithms, often in cooperation with external partners. In producing radically new applications, we often face high uncertainty and respond to such situations by following a lean process of prototyping and measuring in order to stay flexible and learn fast. Working in an applied science environment, your work will comprise the following aspects: Developing project proposals and scientific publications Leading R&D teams and managing projects Performing programming tasks Delivering presentations to expert audiences What we require of you?MSc or comparable (or, preferably, higher) degree in computer science or a related field. Experience in day-to-day managing of software development or research projects, and are comfortable with the role of software architect Strong practical skills in at least one of these technologies/fields and are eager to learn new skills as needed: Java Node.js React (or another frontend framework such as Svelte, Vue or Angular) DevOps (Kubernetes specifically RKE, Docker, Gitlab CI) Machine Learning Recommender Systems Semantic Web Building Information Modelling (IFC) Critical thinking, rational argumentation and facilitating and respecting team decisions Excellent communication skills - You are comfortable using English, speaking to and writing for a range of professional audiences Impeccable written and spoken German What the RSA FG can offer you?A gross salary of 4.050 EUR per month (14 times a year, assuming a PhD) or more, depending on qualification and experience, plus a success-based bonus of up to 20% of your gross salary A stimulating working environment in a team of experts A centrally located workplace in walking distance from the Vienna city center Flexible working hours and remote working arrangements Interesting insights into the work done at other Research Studios What are the next steps?Please send applications including cover letter, motivation, curriculum vitae and certificates by email via jobs@researchstudio.at.
